Consider Becoming a Member
of the District!

The Board of Supervisors of the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation District would like to invite you to become a member of your local conservation district. Our members are called “Cooperators” and there are no membership fees. Please feel free to attend a monthly meeting and get a firsthand idea of the direction the District is taking. These meetings are open to the public and held the 2nd Thursday of the month except for July and November.

We work closely with Mary Thompson of the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS); formerly the Soil Conservation Service (non-regulatory), as well as Trudy Soucy of the Farm Services Agency (FSA), in helping people solve their soil and water conservation problems.

As a cooperator you will be placed on our mailing list to receive a ballot for the annual election of a Supervisor, newsletters, our annual report and other mailings.

If you would like to become a Cooperator, simply click here for a Cooperator Agreement Form and return it to: Knox-Lincoln SWCD, 191 Camden Rd., Warren, ME 04864. We are looking forward to hearing from you!

NEWAIM Farm is a small alpaca farm established in 1999 and located in Waldoboro, Maine. They breed and sell huacaya alpacas of Peruvian and Chilean blood lines. They also sell alpaca fiber in the form of raw fleece, roving, yarn and knitted products. They find great joy in introducing new people to the wonderful lifestyle and business opportunities of raising alpacas. They offer quality alpacas at reasonable prices and they are always available to answer questions, or to lend a helping hand, both before and after the sale.

If you are interested in getting into the alpaca business, but haven't gotten over the sticker shock, Al and Nancy can help there as well. Consider their inovative "Womb for Rent" option. Pre-buy and unborn cria for 40% of the dam's value.

NEWAIM Farm was established by two veterans of the military industrial complex who were looking for a way out. Those two people would be Nancy Williams and Al Maloney. Between the two of them, they have nearly 50 years of experience in the shipbuilding industry and they both felt that it was time to move on.
