Who Can Participate? The Poster contest is open to all students in grades K-12. Students in public, private or home school.
Why Participate?
Designing a poster and researching the theme, can give you a voice in your community on important conservation issues. Good posters tell important stories to present and future generations. Posters capture people’s attention with a powerful graphic and inspire with a message to your community .
Information Resources:
You will want to learn all you can about the importance of water in your daily life. You can find resources at your school or public library, science books, local newspapers, nature centers and from the NACD website www.nacdnet.org Stewardship & Education section.
With assistance from your teacher or parents the internet can also provide information on water
Ask your teacher about other possible resources in your community such as water treatment plant, health department or local community leaders. Also be sure to contact your local conservation district who can direct you to local projects or other resources.
Topics you may want to research are: Water in your ever day life, water cycle, groundwater, sources of drinking water, amount of water on Earth, watersheds, stormwater runoff, drought, flooding, water used to grow food you use each day while remembering the theme of “Water is Life”.
NACD Stewardship has been celebrated every year since 1955. To learn more about NACD Stewardship visit the website above.
