Trout Stocking Sale
May 17, 2007

Spring is the season for stocking ponds with trout....

With this in mind, we are pleased to announce the start of the Annual Trout Stocking Sale sponsored by the Knox-Lincoln Soil and Water Conservation. Under this program pond owners can acquire disease-free, certified fish purchased at a reasonable price, with the added convenience of a pick-up location that is close to their pond.

Order forms for Rainbow and Brook Trout available this year were mailed out in January. Knox-Lincoln SWCD works closely with  Mountain Springs Trout Farm and Dead River Hatchery to provide excellent, disease-free trout and advice to customers.

Permits are $10.00 for a five-year period are available directly from IF&W for any pond you wish to stock and must be obtained before ordering Rainbow or Brook trout.  IF&W does however require a copy of a map pinpointing where the pond is located to accompany the one-page application for each pond and type of trout.
