Join Georges River Land Trust, Maine Forest Service, and Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District for a woodland walk looking for signs of spring and practicing mindfulness from 4:30pm-6pm on Friday, April 24 at the Rockland Bog Preserve in Thomaston. This walk is a great way to explore Georges River Land Trust’s new Beechwood St. trailhead to the Rockland Bog, the largest peatland complex in midcoast Maine!

As the trees prepare for their seasonal change, participants will engage in mindful practices that foster a deeper connection with their woodland. Participants will learn ways to connect and build a relationship with their woodland by reflecting in two distinct ecosystems. Facilitators will share tools and resources to help continue your stewardship journey.

This program is offered in partnership with Maine Tree Farm and Knox-Lincoln Soil & Water Conservation District. Maine Tree Farm has donated writing materials for journaling and reflection exercises. Wear comfortable closed-toed shoes and bring your insect repellent of choice.

This event is free and open to everyone! Please register here.

Parking: This walk will explore the trails of the Rockland Bog Preserve from GRLT's new trailhead on Beechwood St. in Thomaston. 389-395 Beechwood St in Thomaston is the approximate location for the trailhead. Please contact maeve@grlt.org with questions.
